Rescar, Inc. New Railroad Car Restoration Facility
On July 1st. 2008, Rescar-DuBois, PA was for the most part, destroyed by fire. This facility is one of the company’s oldest major railcar repair shop having opened in January 1977. Rescar asked KTH to help rebuild their rail car repair facility including both the cleaning and coatings departments and bring it to state of the art technology for environmental, safety and productivity. Substantial completion in only 6 months, brought back over 100 displaced workers and kept an industry going in area that is one of the major employers. Substantial completion at 6 months and is considered especially expedient in terms of construction time. The facility is 107,000 square feet of new construction and used 25 truckloads of structural steel and 6500 cubic yards of concrete.
