St. Catherine of Siena Church
Prompted by the liturgical changes of Vatican II, a complete renovation of the sanctuary and adjacent spaces was undertaken, providing a central altar dais, reservation chapel and tabernacle, reconciliation chapels, flexible seating, direct balcony access, and a new egress addition. Many elements of earlier changes were removed, though many were reconfigured and retained in an effort to return the space to its original (1904) basic simplicity. Windows that had been closed were reopened, the original vigil lamp discovered and refurbished, and light fixtures reinstalled, among a multitude of major and minor alterations.
